How to Attach Your CV to an Email Message

We will need your Curriculum Vitae (CV) to begin the position application process.

Attaching your CV to an email message refers to the ability of your email program to send that file to FCS with an email message.

These instructions are for the three major email programs. To be able to attach and send files with email messages, you must have an email account established on your PC

The first step is to know where your electronic CV file is located in your PC's document directory on the computer's hard drive. Your CV could also be stored on a floppy disk or CD in the computer's floppy disk drive or CD drive.

Open your computer's email program. The easiest way to do this is to click the Email link on the grey bar located on the top and bottom of each FCS webpage. (If nothing happens or you get an error, you may not have an email account set-up on your PC and you will need to FAX us your vita instead.)

In the New Message screen, click on the Insert icon that looks like a paper clip.

This step takes you to the directory structure for your computer. Navigate through your folders and files until you come to the file you want to attach. Click on it so that it is highlighted and then click Insert.

You will then be returned to the Message Composition window.

Finish the message by typing in a cover note and sending it by clicking on the send button. This completes the process of attaching your CV to an email message!
